Rev.Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo's Comment On C & S Church By Ap. Muyiwa Adeyemi
When my wife called my attention to the story she read on Seraphstories online medium about Pastor Poju Oyemade's interview with Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo and various fallacies about C & S, I found it difficult to believe the whole story. I called the publisher of Seraphstories to send the original copy of Ashimolowo's interview to me which he did immediately.
Let me quickly say that my reaction to Ashimolowo's interview is my personal opinion as a Seraph and it should be seen as such.
It is an established fact that some of this commercial-driven 'Pastors' derive satisfaction in speaking ills of the C & S to market their churches. For Ashimolowo to be this unknowledgeable to distort historical facts shows the kind of Pastor he is. Very naive!
He said C & S came into existence after C A C in 1930 and the founder of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Akindayomi had his roots from the CAC. What a poor knowledge of History of Churches in Nigeria.
Akindayomi's family is very much around and Ashimolowo should consult them or Pastor Adeboye and stop peddling ignorance with confidence. Pa Akindayomi was a member of C & still, he founded his Church.
The KICC Pastor should also note that C& S was registered in 1925 while the C A C established by Pastor Ayo Babalola came into existence after the revival of 1930. St Moses Orimolade ignited the fire of Pentecostalism in Nigeria and his missionary works and miracles he performed were still fresh in the memories of millions of people.
I hereby refer Ashimolowo to read J. Akinyele OMOYAJOWO. CHERUBIM & SERAPHIM The history of an African Independent Church, 1982. It is a scholarly written book by a non-C & S member.
